Can you guess which one of GCA’s amazing after school hours is the sweetest? Chef it Up, a program where cooking teachers visit schools, is run by Mrs. Sam every Monday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Each week club members make two delicious dishes, one they can eat there and the other one they bake at home. Some examples include empanadas and chocolate chip pumpkin bread for the fall season and lots more great foods.
Mrs. Sam said she loves working with students and encouraging them to cook, even at a young age. Her favorite part is spending time with the kids, and seeing how they love learning new cooking styles. “It's exciting meeting all these new people and all their personalities,” she said.
Even if you don't want to be a professional chef when you grow up, it's still a great skill to have and learn in the future. I participated in Chef it Up last year and I learned a lot! I give it five stars!
