Grandparents Day Bridges the Generations

By Vivienne Rodgriguez and Charlotte Watts

“I thought that grandparents day was a wonderful day because I got to meet all of the sweet grandparents and I got to show my grandparents what I do in the morning,” Vivienne said.

GCA celebrated Grandparents Day on September 9th and the event was a hit! Students, grades k-8, welcomed their grandmas and grandpas to spend the morning with them. There were 20 grandparents who attended 4th and 5th grade classrooms alone! There were tons of awesome sweets for the grandparents such as yogurt granola, pastries, muffins, bagels, coffee, water, and apple juice. The oldest grandparent in attendance was 94 and the youngest grandparent was 55 years old. It was a busy, hectic and amazing day.
